Surprising !!

What a rare and enjoyable find. This boot although seemingly big and clumsy, it is quite a treat to wear. Sized just right and when I slip them on, it actually feels like a very comfortable pair of slippers. Worth more than the price, coupled with rapid delivery service, can't be beat

Low heal

I bought this as a partial replacement for a pair of older Cabela's Outfitter boots. I like this boot as it is fairly comfortable, but I noticed right off the bat that the heal is slightly low and has a dish feel to it. After wearing it for a day I felt a little bit of foot muscle fatigue on the outside of my feet, but not sure yet if that is my arch or the boot causing it. I still like the style as one of the major things was that my Cabela's boots were coming apart at the base of the laces section where the crease from walking forms. They are a few years old but are letting in water now because of it. The Guide Gear boots won't do that due to their style. My main reason for getting them and the little extra Thinsulate. Overall a decent boot.

Day one, good first impression

Received my boots yesterday, at first glance the boots appear well constructed. I decided to wear them to work today to make sure they are comfortable. The boots are comfortable and warm enough for my needs. I live in WI so time will tell if they continue to impress. I plan on wearing them deer hunting this weekend, hoping the waterproof claim is accurate. I made the mistake of wearing my work boots (Wolverine Wellingtons) scouting yesterday and ended up with tender heels. Due to the ankle support of the Guide Gear boots, I can't feel the blisters on my heels when I walk in them.I saw previous complaints about Guide Gear boots, not this particular model but others. The other models didn't have stitching at the sole all the way around, these "lace to toe" boots do. I don't anticipate any sole trouble. I thought about buying similar Cabelas brand boots but decided to save the $20-40 bucks and buy these.
