Poorly designed for hunting, more like a gardening boot

These boots were comfortable enough, but after putting them to the test in the field, they demonstrated some serious design flaws. The flaws run as follows:1) Once they were used in the field (hunting waterfowl in western Oregon under normal conditions) the boots quickly delaminated at the toe, allowing water to enter and destroying any waterproof capacity they might have. If you look at other brands of similar boots, you will notice that their entire lower portion is one-piece rubber, whereas this particular boot has divided the lower boot into sections, thereby making it vulnerable to delamination after extended use. That is exactly what happened, very disappointing.2) Another disadvantage of this model is the fact that the top of the boot is lined with nylon, and is cinched tight with a cotton drawstring.On the one hand, the nylon enclosure allows water to pour gushing in when you step in puddles over your knee, while on the other hand, the drawstring material easily rots in saline water conditions and snaps at the slightest provocation. Again, a simple design flaw made for the sake of saving a few pennies. Similar boots by other companies use neoprene for the top of the boot instead of nylon, which is already watertight ... but they also double the protection by placing a buckle-style cinch strap at the back of the boot to tighten the neoprene down. If you actually plan on getting the boot wet, this type of system is a must.3) The insole of the boot, when wet, will come riding up the arch of your foot, and during prolonged hikes will eventually creep up under your toes, causing blisters.I wish that I could say something nice about these boots, because they seemed quite comfortable at first, and when I saw the price I felt as if I had sneaked away with a brilliant bargain. I have now retired these boots to garden duty, where they seem to perform quite admirably for mowing the lawn in cold weather, and potting plants. But this is definitely not a hunting boot. Consider them field tested by someone who used them to do exactly what they are advertised to do. They truly failed in that capacity.
