They are waterproof but you need extra padding around the back of the legs to prevent significant chaffing.

I bought these for snowblowing/shoveling thinking they would be quick to put on instead of my pacs. They are easy to get on and do keep your feet dry. However, they have no insulstion and even with heavy socks my feet were cold. I also added inserts as they have no cushioning. They are handy for quick trips outside but not for extended cold weather use.

Had to return this item because it did not fit. Ask for an exchange for a new size but only received a credit. really wanted these :(
