Solid, Long Life Boot, Questionable Green Material
By Bing Kaz
*The down and dirty: if you're paying with your own money, get the regular Danner hot weather boots. These are not as good because of the green poly toe/heel caps.*I was issued a size 12 pair when I was getting ready to go to Afghanistan in early 2012. I've had the same pair on my feet five days a week ever since, and I have to say these are inferior to standard Danner hot weather boots due to the look of them.Looks: This is where these boots suffer the most. Out of the box, they look sharp, and have a distinct, modern sort of appearance. After over a year of wear and tear that shiny looking green poly-whatever-plastic-stuff is just shot, and has a sort of mottled gray appearance. For day to day, they look fine, but if I planned to go see my Commanding Officer or standing duty at the barracks I'd wear something else. Also, randomly, the forward eyelet on the right boot parted company a few months back. Because of this, unless you have your heart set on that green plasticy stuff, I'd buy a standard pair of Danner hot weather boots over these. (3/5 due to departed hardware and questionable green poly material)Fit: Snug, but very comfortable. I leave the top eyelets unlaced and tuck the laces into the flap that creates, then blouse my trousers against the first eyelet. This secures the trouser blousing in place, and creates a clean appearance. Like most military issue boots, the insole leaves something to be desired, but a pair of blue Profoot molding insoles (the cheap 5 dollar ones) fixed that issue. Other pairs of Danners I have had felt exactly the same, good comfortable boots. (5/5- Again, shoddy insoles are about standard with boots)Functionality: For daily wear, these boots perform superbly. They are not as heavy or cumbersom as your standard Bates Jungle boots, and feel a lot more limber once you wear them a few times. Because of the snug fit, they are good for running/CFT/humps, and I've never gotten a blister wearing them, even when they were soaked. Once again, this is about par for the course with Danner, they make a very functional combat boot. (5/5, No complaints)Servicability: After quite a few miles, these boots are doing very well. None of the stitching has failed, the laces are still original, and the clothwork is not ripped or torn. I tend to walk a little duck footed, so the outside portions of the heels are wearing unevenly, as is the center lug (it has a little circle around it and 360 degrees stamped there) from drill/ceremony work. Lastly, the inner liner which feels like some sort of sweat wicking material, has developed a small hole on the outboard-facing portion of the heel near the seam, probably from pulling them on and off. This does not cause discomfort or in any way change the boots. (5/5)Parting shot: I clean these boots when they need it with soap and water and wear them 8-10 hours a day. They're good boots, but not as good as Danner's standard hot weather deserts. There is no preserving the green poly material, if it touches anything it scuffs and takes little cuts and abrasions and looks bad.

Amazing quality, fit and comfort - right out of the box!
By Brett Harris
The title says it all! The fulfillment was awesome, I ordered these boots Wed evening and by Friday morning they were on my feet. I wear a 12.5 and these fit perfectly with a pair of lightweight socks on. Felt smooth as butter from day one. They look great, are comfortable in weather over 85 degrees and they look great doing it.These are 100% made in USA and they look and feel that level of quality - there are other providers of these boots but a few of them were dropped from the GSA contract due to quality concerns - not true with my Danners.Pick up a pair and enjoy American Made Quality!!
