The original Maine Hunting Shoe was L.L.'s first product, introduced in 1912. Over the years, we've made lots of improvements to these boots, but hunters have told us that they miss the moccasin-like feel that our original boots had in the woods. So we set out to bring it back. The new Maine Hunting Shoe has an improved bottom that is softer and more flexible, allowing the hunter to better feel the forest floor. The new sole grips better and lasts longer too, for many seasons of reliable performance. We've also added a steel shank in the arch, for added lateral support in rough terrain. We improved the upper with a premium, waterproof leather that's softer and more supple, so it molds to your leg for a custom fit. A removable, waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex liner is guaranteed to keep your foot dry in any weather, and 200-gram Thinsulate Insulation olefin/polyester will ward off the chill of cold fall mornings. Rubber features a matte finish that won't spook game. Just as it was in 1912, each pair is backed by our founder's legendary 100% satisfaction guarantee, and is is still handstitched and checked for quality right here in Maine.
