These are the men's 42982 durable, full-grain leather boot. These have a 100% waterproof GORE-TEX lining for ultimate, breathable comfort. They have a TERRA FORCE X Lite platform which provides a lightweight fit with extra durability, traction andmaneuverability. These also have an oil and slip resistant Danner TFX Lite outsole which give stability and grip without any extra weight. This boot meets or exceeds ASTM F2413-05/75 C/75 EH standards while resisting both heat and cold.

big tax write-off because you buy a new pair every 6 months

Let me start by saying I weigh 260 lbs and am 6'1" tall. I really liked these boots when they were new because of the easy on/off side zipper, the extremely light weight, and superb comfort. My first pair lasted almost 8 months of everyday use before the soles came off and my socks were on the street. I thought maybe it was a fluke so I ordered another pair of Danner high quality $200. boots. This last pair lasted 4 months before I felt the water creeping in, then 2 months later the soles wore out and I had to throw them away. It is disappointing because they are very comfortable boots. I'm not complaining because these are a great tax write off for my business but honestly I feel boots that cost more than $150 should last at least a year. I've tried heavier boots from other brands in the same price range and they hurt my feet so I guess I'll just buy stock in Danner and order a couple more pairs.

Cheap zippers! Disappointing!

These were purchased from shoebuy.com through Amazon. I work in a very wet environment and need waterproof boots. I also ride a motorcycle and these boots have worked very well in the past. I have been wearing the Danner waterproof sidezip boots for 8-10 years and this would have only been my 5th pair with pretty much every day use. Needless to say I have been happy with this brand in the past. Nice looking boot when I received them though the vendor was slow with shipping. I wore them 2 days only to discover that the zipper detached with the little pully thingy stuck at the top. Returned the boots with the cheap (blankity blank blank) zippers and got a refund. I'm looking for something similar in a different brand and will be very hesitant to spend my $$$ with Danner any longer. Very, very disappointed!

I bought these back in 2008 and loved them wore them every day in the academy for 6 months and another 6 months out on the street. The side zip is great if you are a boot person they come off and on easy. One problem with side zip is ankle support you do not get that much unless you tie the boots tight then the side zip becomes useless. They are really light boot for leather boot. Almost as light as my Jungle boots. I have owned many Danners in the past and I have to say I'm sad at the lack of craftsmen ship on these boot. The tread on these boot are just about gone only after a year of use and I wrote Danner and they said they could not be re soled! So who wants to spend $200+ on boots that the soles tread only lasts one year? Not me! I have also read people having problems with the zipper braking I have never had this problem with mine.In all I'm disappointed in Danner there are guys who bought 5.11 boots that cost half the price of my Danners and the tread is still good on them. Danner has a winner with this boot they just need to change it so they can be re soled or use better soles on them.
