I have thin skin and blister easily. I've tried lots of the standard hiking boots, including a medium height pair from Zamberlan that look just like these, and even though I break them in, and wear them for months before I really go hiking, they all seem to kill my heels.This is the first of at least 5 pairs of hiking boots that I've tried that is so far, completely blister free. Perhaps it is the higher top that stabilizes my foot in the shoe, perhaps it is just a perfect fit, but I've done quite a bit of hiking since buying these, often loaded with packs weighing between 25 and 35 lbs, without any trouble.The price takes your breath away, but in my case, after unsuccessfully trying every high end boot at REI, I am completely satisfied.
