Everything About Them is Great - EXCEPT......
By J3
I have had these for several months ( I rotate boots regularly between three or four pair) and for the most part, agree with other reviewers. The construction is solid, the soles give excellent traction on most surface ( a little slippery on wet rock or wet grass on slopes, but most boots are!) the boots are lightweight and very well cushioned. And I'm giving mine away. Sadly.I really like them a lot. The problem that I have with them did not show up for the first days of wear; I don't know why. But here it is, in a nutshell:IF your feet are at all broad at the ball and the forefoot, do yourself a favor. Pass on these, and try Original Swat or Ridge brand. Really. My foot is not unusually wide, not a double E by any means, and the 'D' or Medium in most shoes is quite adequate. But on my first long trek in these, my toes began to feel constricted. I tried to remedy this by going to a thinner insole. No good; after a few hours, my toes feel so narrowly confined and squeezed that I think of either cutting off my feet or taking a blade to the sides of the boots - anything for some relief. Now, you may think, just get a half size longer. However, going too long, to compensate for a narrow toe box, just gives you more slippage around the heel and ankle. So the problem is the last, or form, that the shoe is shaped over. It just isn't made with a wider foot,or heavier socks, in mind. All in all - if your foot is somehwat on the narrow side of medium, get these boots and never look back. You will be totally delighted with them, I assure you.BUT if your feet are wider, at least from the ball of the foot forward, across the toe area, avoid the disappointment and get another good brand. There are plenty to choose from here at Amazon.

Nice boot, but wouldn't buy again.
By Christopher
I purchased these boots a year and a half ago. They took a few days to break in and were the best boots I have ever warn. They are light, comfortable, and look great. I walk about eight miles a day at work and these boots were the best for about a year. Just after the one year mark the leather where the toe bends began to split. The split was small at first but within two weeks became a two gaping splits on the outer toe crease. I like these boots very much, but will not buy them again because of this. I was in the military and had boots last 5+ years with a resole.

Boots

Great boots for the money. Came with return shipping label in case the boots did not fit. Very happy with the whole process.
