The boot is great however i was given a boot without the side zips. Its not the end of the world and they were given to me as a gift so it was not worth the hassle to get them returned.

I bought these boots to replace a pair of Bates side-zips. I was more than surprised at the durability of these. I've had multiple pairs of zip up boots over the years and all of them were lucky to last a year. These have been my daily wear work boots for over 3 years now and they have just started to show any noticeable wear. One of the zippers no longer works but that's what happens when you drop a 400lb object on a zipper, not the boots fault at all.Through rain, snow, wind, and every conceivable surface I've had no leaks and they're a lot warmer than what I thought they would be in the middle of a northern Indiana winter.If you like a tactical style boot and are looking for something you can get in and out of easily I highly recommend these.

I am only into my boots 1 year and I rotate them out with a pair of 5.11's. The stitching at the bottom of the zipper started to pull out causing a hole. I just took them in and I am hoping they can fix them. These boots are far from ideal and cannot take must use before they fail. The 5.11's do not have an issue at all under the same conditions. Danner are even better than these boots. Never again Thorogood.....
