Comfortable and supprisingly cool
By Crafter
These boots do exactly what I need them to do. They are comfortable, lightweight, sturdy, and cool. Additionally, the low cut in the back makes these boots easy to put on or take off. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars are for the things I'm not asking them to do right now. It would be nice if there were some ventilation/drainage holes near the bottom just in case I was to step in water (however unlikely that is here in Afghanistan). The other area of concern is where to tuck the boot laces for operations in heavy brush. Right now I can tie them in a bow and not have a problem. Usually on taller boots there is a recessed area for tucking in the laces -- not so with these. These laces are not overly long like most athletic shoes but would still need to be shorted some to reduce the bulk in order to tuck them on top of the tongue. Again, not a problem in the desert but something to think about for wooded terrain. I would highly recommend these for anyone operating in desert terrain.
