Item did not match picture
By Bobby Rogers
This must have happened to the other bad review at the same time as there were no reviews when I ordered. But now I received the boots and they are different than the picture so maybe this is happening to everyone. Amazon should fix this problem. We'll see if this item stays posted as is.DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO RECEIVE ANYTHING

not what I ordered
By William Bailey
I was expecting the exact show. They sent me a ugly black boot that looks nothing like what I ordered.

Rocky Chukka
By Inspector Nash Bridges
The problem here is that Amazon has the Rocky Chukka boot on the same page as the Lynx boot. You will not get a black Lynx boot. You will get a black Chukka. Now, on to the boot. This is a polishable, durable, light weight boot that is uniform issue for many police departments across the country. After you graduate the academy, you may choose a shoe that is more appropriate to your assignment, since you will need different foot wear for SWAT, motorcycles, horses, and bicycles. The first thing that a lot of the younger guys do is to get a pair of HH Brown Men's 10" Original Jump Boots. However, these shoes are still very relevant and practical, which is why you stil see a lot of the old-timers, like myself, wearing this style even though they've had a career's worth of experience with different shoe options. In the days of yore and yesteryear, the mindset was that a good pair of shoes started out hard and stiff, and you had to break them in right. This was back when quality shoes were made from thick, heavy leather to protect your feet from the elements, and built to last a lifetime. Back in the day, good shoes were very expensive, and were intended to last your entire career if you oiled, polished, and resoled them. When I first started out, you actually saw guys after shift spending an extra hour in the locker room, cleaning, oiling, and polishing their leather gear. In those days, you actuall pressed your own uniforms and hand polished your badge and all your brass. Today's generation would rather wear tact gear with BDUs that look better if it looks like you've lived in them, and can barely be troubled to clean their weapons. The current production lot of the Rocky Chukka boot is made from a lesser grade of leather. Not quite as thick and heavy anymore, but that means that they are lighter on your feet. The shoe will still take a good shine, and the soles are still Goodyear welted. The collar with the cushion around your ankles is now made of polyurethane (pleather, fake leather), which gives no advantage to the wearer, but saves money in the production process. The shoes still come up high enough to be laced to your ankles for support when spending all day on your feet. The insole is comfortable enough to pound the pavement with, and they are removeable so that you can replace them with an orthopedic product if needed. These shoes will serve double duty if you need to go from uniform to business attire for court appearances or plainclothes assignments. They also look fine with a pair of jeans for going out after work. The cheaper leather is still full grain, and hard enough that you will need to break them in.
