Combat Boot, "Mickey Mouse" Extreme Cold Weather Boots, Waterproof Rubber, Genuine U.S. Military Issue, NSN 8430-00-823-7051, 10 Regular
Product Description
High Blucher style, rigid rubber sole, ski strap shelf. These boots have an air pressure system for high altitudes and insulation, and are designed to keep feet comfortable at 20 below zero. | "Mickey Mouse Boot" is the nickname for the U.S. Army Cold Vapor Barrier Boots. Still in use in the Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System, these boots were designed for use for temperatures up to from 20 below zero. These boots are genuine U.S. Issue. | Originally designed and adopted around the Korean War, these boots offer a unique solution to water evaporation from the feet, the leading cause of frostbite and cold injury in winter. A layer of thick wool and felt is sandwiched between two layers of waterproof rubber, and compressed to make a thin, flexible, and completely watertight insulated barrier, unaffected by outside moisture or sweat moisture from the feet. | The high blucher design features a seamless shell design, direct molded sole, and a gusset fused to the main body along its whole length. You would have to step in water that completely covered the top of the boot before any liquid could get in, and even if this happened, the body temperature in the feet would quickly warm the water and prevent frostbite. This boot is designed to be worn with one thick pair of padded-sole socks, to be changed at least once daily, and offers unprecedented cold weather protection. Each pair also features an air pressure release valve, to be opened during high-altitude flight or climbing to allow air pressure between the layers to escape. | These boots are in new, unissued condition, and come right out of the manufacturer's box.

THE essential cold weather boot.
By Shane
I live in Alaska and work on an oilfield at the northern tip. These military style bunny boots are THE boot to get to keep your feet warm no matter what the conditions. They are all rubber and therefore waterproof. They are not fancy or have fur or anything lining the inside. I have found that the BEST way to ensure they stay warm if you're going to be working outside during extreme cold, is to "preheat them," which basically means throw them by the heater or use a blow dryer for a minute or so on the inside. They are so well insulated that if you put them on and they are a little cold on the inside, they will just keep being cold and you will hate them. Another tip I have is to get some parachute cord or something to put in place of the laces. The ones they come with I feel are too short. The boots are heavy, but not uncomfortable to wear. The traction is pretty decent on ice. Another thing to remember is to NEVER get diesel fuel on them! This will eat away at them and basically ruin them. Another thing you're going to want to know is that your feet will get hot and sweat and stink like a bastard! The boots are NOT breathable! So some sort of Dr.Scholls absorbent liner will help. I wear a size 8.5 work boot, and I have a size 8 of these bunny boots. They fit perfectly. They are pretty comfortable and also offer great ankle support. These boots are THE winter boot to get if you're going to be spending a lot of time outside. If you want the warmest boots and don't care about them being a bit heavy or not "fancy," I would pick these over any other winter boot. Highly recommended.

warmest boots i have ever had
By timroy
I work construction year round. Dealing with ground water, it is common for my feet to get wet. Its not a big deal in the summer, but when it is winter in New England, its not something any of my previous boots could handle. These keep my feet dry and warm. Im glad I bought them and would recommend them to all.
