Best Hip Waders on the Market. SERIOUSLY!!

I am a wildlife biologist and I sometimes spent ten hours a day wearing these hip waders. Our group has tried many other hip waders, but we always come back to these. They are the toughest most durable waders that we have found on the market today. We regularly drag them through HEAVY brush and over stumps and stobs and we are amazed that we hardly have any problems with leaks. You really have to abuse these waders to tear them up. Also, if you order them through Amazon, rather than directly from Forestry Suppliers, you can save a few bucks and have Amazon customer service backing up the purchase..One other important note: these waders run a little big.. I wear a size eleven, but I discovered that a size ten is the perfect LaCrosse Hip Wader fit for me (and I still have a little room in the toes, but they are almost snug with thick wool socks..).

I've worked at a various fish hatcheries with earthen ponds for 30 years, and have tried about every hipboot brand. Commercial fisherman/fireman style boots last forever but are heavy, slip off your feet in deep mud and rub blisters on my heels after walking a few hundred feet. Boots with thin, very flexible uppers are easy to walk in but are ruined with holes from needle-sharp catfish spines on the first day of use. The Big Chief combines rugged durability with walking comfort perfectly. They hold up to abuse while the snug fitting ankle prevents heel slip and makes for comfortable walking and wear. The non-insulated Chiefs are fine for all but severe winter cold and long periods in cold water. I'd buy the insulated for a truly all condition, awesome boot, O.K. even for summer. I wear an 8 to 8 1/2, the 9 boot fits just right, don't want a really tight fit here. I'll never buy anything else, wish I had found these years ago.
