Double H Black ICE Roper Boots Briar - 11 inches tall - USA Made

This Double H boot says it is part number DH3599. My last boot (not Double H) was 10 inches tall and the bottom of my pants would often ride up over the top of the boot when I stood up. The DH3599 is 11 inch tall and I no longer have the riding up pants problem. Interestingly the description after I ordered the boot on Amazon said it was 10 inches tall. I had to contact the seller to verify that the boot was indeed 11 inches tall.I was having a hard time finding a boot I liked in the stores so I thought I'd try on-line. I was concerned that the boot might not fit so I ordered my shoe size of 10.5 instead of my normal size of 11 for boots hoping it would be a nice tight fit. I was surprised that my heel loosely slid up/down in this boot. My guess is the "Black ICE" sole is too stiff. Although the sole looks like it will wear well, it comes at a price of being too stiff.The heel of the boot is two parts nailed to the sole. The part next to the heel looks like the same material as the sole. The outside appears to be a softer material that might wear out before the sole does. A rather large gap between the heel and soul is created when the sole is flexed by hand. I'm worried the gap will eventually fill up with crap. The nail heads are very noticeable on one heal but I cannot see the nail heads on the other heal. Therefore, the construction is not consistent so I guess "USA Made" doesn't really mean much.Briar is tan with a hint of green. I never did find a shoe polish that matched. The shoe polish I used covered the white stitching so it is no longer white. The inside of the sole is formed and called "Pillow Cushion". It gives me the sense that my socks are sliding forward - not a comfortable feeling at all. I doubt I will purchase any more boots on-line from now on.
