These are nice boots. I would not buy them as a work boot. These boots are a perfect fit for my 11Wide foot. They do need to soften up a bit, I wear them on the weekends for now until they get broken in. These boots seem to be made very well. They remind me of something someone would wear from the 1940's Indiana Jones gear. So glad I found them here on Amazon. I always shopped at those online shoe buy websites, until I found that Amazon has them cheaper. I paired these boots up with some new Rockport socks as well. Sad they are not water-proof for this price, but they are a nice looking, comfortable boot. OH one last thing, love the inner boot lining.

A well made simple boot. Nothing fancy here. Solidly made. Above ankle design for some ankle protection. I use the boot when riding about the city on my motorcycle. Doesn't look like a motorcycle boot. Can be worn casually unlike touring boots. It has a hard sole that will wear well when riding.

This is not a work or outdoor boot, in spite of its 8" height. It is esentially a Rockport walking shoe with a high top. That said, it is comfortable and seems to be as sturdily made as any shoe in its class. The fit is very generous, which is in line with other Rockport boots I have. I was able to wear a half-size smaller than my usual size with no trouble, and the D/medium width is a loose fit on my narrow foot, requiring the addition of a foam insole beneath the supplied insole. The insole is comfortable and the "ride" is smooth and natural. The line of stitching on the front part of the welt should contribute to longevity. They are perfect for my office-casual work environment, and will provide some extra protection for motorcycle commuting. Other reviewers have noted that they are not waterproof -- I will try a coat of Sno-Seal worked in with warmth from a hair dryer to make them a little more water-resistant.
