Great Boots, a word about getting them resoled...

I have been wearing these boots now for several years. Top quality. Made by Danner in China-but excellent craftsmanship. Soles only last me about 10 months though, so this light sole comes with a price...they have a fairly short life. Have now had three pairs resoled....first pair at Danner. Danner didn't have identical/original soles since the ones the boots are made with all come from China...so had to pick another sole. Got the boots back, and they were extremely heavy with these "new soles". Found a place called "Da Boot Shop" that does a ton of resoling for a military base where they are located. Had the heavy Danner job redone, and then sent them two more pair of these exact boots. Told the guy I would like a long wearing, but lightweight sold....man, he fixed me right up and they are perfect..even treated the leather for me and charged LESS than Danner and got the boots back in about 10 days..about 2 weeks less that Danner. 5-stars on these boots!

These are one of the best fitting boot I have worn. I weight about 140lbs and they are more designed as a snug fit around the entire foot which adds great support for all types of hiking or just plain walking around.The lugs are self cleaning which to be is an important attribute. They have just the right amount of stiffness to support on rugged terrain but not as stiff as some of the extreme hiking boots, which to me, adds to fatigue.As with all Waterproof GTX boots, they are a little warmer than non GTX boots.

I have worn out a few pair of danner and the elk ridge are the best so far.The break in was fast and easy two days and bingo they was good to go. I have not had them in warmer hunts yet but with a light weight sock(under armor)they will be fine I'm sure. Don't be fooled on the the lower price its just the icing on the cake.
