5A fine enough boot, and that's not easy to find these days
By E. Hernandez
BARGAIN OUTFITTER'S 'GUIDE GEAR' ROPER BOOTS - For a very long time I have been a 'slip-on' kind of guy, wearing loafers or Crocs due to my physical disabilities. However, for about 2/3 of my life I wore BOOTS. We were raised wearing those square-toed clod-hopping boots and I rapidly developed a taste for the "roper" style with its elegant simplicity and beauty. It's basically like a high-topped loafer and is good for the feet. This roper-style boot is a fantastic fit and as far as I can tell at this early stage, quite well made. I do not generally support things made in China, or the companies that outsource like that. In this case, however, I can see some benefit. I badly needed a pair of ropers and was not willing to pay the minimum $135 they would have cost in my size had I got them from Justin, for example. This pair as far as I'm concerned is about as good and will serve me quite well. Though I need some assistance getting them on/off, as most do with boots, a finely made pair of ropers will essentially slide on/off easily - as these do. Struggling with a boot that does not want to let go, or won't let in your foot in the first place, is indicative of a problem. These boots don't have that problem. There is also the question of new boots hurting and requiring breaking-in ... and that is just ignorance on the part of the customer. Know your shoe/boot size! My size is 11EE, and I ordered these in 11EEE. A fine fit. With lots of shoes on Amazon, I read reviews by people who don't know their proper size or how to determine their proper size.Better get that straight before you buy ANY shoe. Especially boots. Boots ought not to hurt, need no breaking-in period, and should fit like carpet slippers on the first day. THAT is a good boot, but more importantly, that is the RIGHT SIZE for you. Finally, I am attracted to the fine leather and I know I'll have to polish/buff the heck out of these to get the proper deep shine. It's the soles I really like. They look like vulcanized rubber but I'm certain they are not. Whatever they are, they look like they can defeat an oil slick or a frozen river. That is the type of sole a boot must have, and that's the type I really need.Even for a picky boot connoisseur, I recommend these boots as a nice old back-up pair for work, wintry days and to wear to funerals. You may be going up Mud Hill, Ice Hill or Boot Hill, and this pair of boots will be a fine companion for any trip.

5Comfortable riding boots
By Stuart Lyman
Very happy with the quality and comfort of these boots especially for the price. A very good deal and I would recommend these to anyone wanting a riding boot that works well with office attire (professional/casual). I wear these on my commute to work daily (Purchased May 2012)--riding a '84 Magna VF1100.Seems true to size for me.Like the nonslip soles.Would buy these again but probably won't need to for some time!

5Nicely Built Boots
By Michael
I plan to buy another pair of these boots really soon since I have owned a pair before and really loved them. These are very well built comfortable boots that really last, and the oil resistant rubber sole is great when walking where it is wet or slippery.
