Shoestrings Defective

Both shoestrings outer layer broke within 2 months. looks like the top eyes have sharp edges that wear on the strings until the outer coverings break. Otherwise the boots seem to wear very well. I would opt to buy the Sears die-hard boot instead,had a pair before & no problems for a year.John
